Is there anything more comforting than a big pot of Chili with all the delicious smells of spice wafting through the house? I think not! My recipe has a secret ingredient that you wouldn't expect to see but trust me it adds a depth of flavor that no chili should be without. This chili makes a large batch so you will have some left over to freeze if it lasts that long!

2 lbs ground beef, I like Greensbury Market
1 lb ground pork, I like Greensbury Market
2 tblsp olive oil
1 large onion, diced
2 large sweet potatoes, diced small
28 oz fire roasted diced tomatoes
8 oz diced green chilis, I like Organic Rio Luna (4 oz cans)
6 oz tomato paste
1 1/2 tblsp unsweetened cocoa powder
1 tsp oregano
3 tblsp chili powder
1 tblsp cumin
1 tsp salt
(jalapeño, diced - optional if you like spicy chili)
