It's no secret that I love creating recipes that use unsweetened jams and these Strawberry Chia Jam Balsamic Wings are going to be your new favorite! They are sticky, sweet, tangy and finger licking good! The sauce comes together quickly and has just a few ingredients. Be sure to save some of this sauce for dipping too! The whole family will love these delicious wings!
I like to serve these with crispy fries or a delicious coleslaw. I have several to choose from like Classic Coleslaw or Apple Almond Slaw and several others!

Only 4 ingredients plus spice: This recipe is easy and bursting with flavor.
INGREDIENTS YOU WILL NEED
Chicken Wings: I prefer organic chicken wings from Rastelli's Delivered because they are from a small organic farming collective, never receive antibiotics, steroids or hormones and are treated humanely.
Strawberry Chia Jam: I use Chia Smash as I like that it is free from refined sugars and the addition of chia seeds adds extra protein and other nutrients.
Balsamic Vinegar: It has many potential health benefits including lowering cholesterol and improving skin complexion. It also adds a distinctive bold, tart and complex flavor to the wings.
Ketchup: I prefer unsweetened ketchup that allows the true sweetness from the tomatoes to shine through.
Garlic Powder: Is best in this recipe as it easily dissipates into the sauce for a better overall texture. It is also known for its anti inflammatory and anti bacterial properties.
Onion Powder: Adds a sweet and savory flavor to certain dishes that you can’t get from fresh onions.
Salt and Pepper: Elevates the flavor and balances with the sweetness of the jam.
INSTRUCTIONS
Line a rimmed cookie sheet with parchment paper.
Preheat oven to 400˚
Pat chicken wings dry with paper towels and place on pan, skin side up, not touching each other.
Combine sauce ingredients in a bowl and mix well and move half the sauce to a separate bowl for dipping cooked wings in.
Brush chicken wings on with sauce.
Roast for 20 minutes, remove and flip wings and brush with sauce on bottoms and return to oven and roast 20 minutes more.
Remove from oven and flip wings and brush top side once more and return to oven for 20 minutes more.
Remove from oven and serve with extra dipping sauce and enjoy!
RECIPE TIPS AND TRICKS
Chicken Wings: Be sure to pat the wings dry with paper towels as this makes for a crispier wing when they are ready to eat.
Sauce: Be sure to divide your sauce before putting it on the chicken so as to not contaminate the portion that will be used for dipping in.
Parchment Paper: Using parchment paper to line your pan results in a crispier wing and easier clean up. Who doesn't love easy clean ups!

Not a strawberry fan? You can use any flavor chia jam like peach, apricot or whatever your favorite is.

WHAT IS CHIA JAM?
Chia jam is a fruit based jam that has chia seeds in it. Chia seeds are packed with protein, calcium, healthy omega-3 fatty acids and soluble fiber.
HOW DO YOU KEEP WINGS CRISPY AFTER SAUCING?
Saucing the wings more than one last time after flipping them helps to get a nice crispy skin.
DO YOU HAVE TO WASH WINGS BEFORE COOKING?
You shouldn't wash any poultry, meat or eggs before cooking. They can all spread germs around your kitchen. Don't wing food safety!
WHY ARE AIR FRYER WINGS SO GOOD?
The forced air circulating hot air makes the skin super crisp and they cook 3 times faster than a traditional oven. You can air fry at 400 degrees (plain without sauce for 10 minutes). Remove and toss in the sauce and place back in air fryer for about 5-7 minutes or till crispy.
STORAGE TIPS
If you are lucky enough to have left overs I like to store them in a glass food storage container and consume within 4-5 days.
Strawberry Chia Jam Balsamic Wings
Ingredients
- 2 lb Chicken Wings
- 1 cup Strawberry Chia Jam I like Chia Smash
- ¼ cup Balsamic Vinegar
- ¼ cup Ketchup unsweetened, I like Noble Made
- 1 tablespoon Garlic Powder
- 2 teaspoon Onion Powder
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1 teaspoon Black Pepper
Instructions
- Combine in a small bowl strawberry jam, balsamic, ketchup, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper and stir well
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet with parchment paper
- Pat wings dry with paper towels
- Place on baking sheet, skin side up, not touching one another
- Divide your sauce so you have some for dipping
- Brush wings with sauce
- Roast 20 minutes, remove and flip wings and brush bottom sides
- Roast 20 minutes, remove and flip wings and brush skin side up again with sauce and roast 20 minutes more
