Whole30 Coleslaw

Coleslaw is such a favorite of mine that I have several different recipes and I thought I should share my Classic Whole30 Coleslaw too. Just five simple ingredients and a few spices and you have an amazing creamy Whole30 Coleslaw that’s a crunchy and delicious side for most anything! This Whole30 Coleslaw is also Paleo and Whole30 friendly. It is super easy having only five ingredients plus some spice. It is the perfect side for all your barbecues and it is the perfect topping for fish tacos.

Ingredients You Will Need

Green Cabbage: also known as cannonball cabbage, is leafy, crunchy, cheap and nutritious.

Red Cabbage: or purple, this cabbage has a high concentration of antioxidants. It is just so pretty and a favorite of mine for all sorts of salads.

Carrot Sticks: are whole carrots that have been peeled, washed and precut for you and they add a natural sweetness to your dish.

Avocado Oil Mayonnaise: offers a unique creamy texture and a healthier fat profile, ideal for Whole30 Coleslaw.

Apple Cider Vinegar: a type of vinegar made from fermented apple juice that adds a fruity undertones to dishes like a summer slaw.

Salt and Pepper: salt enhances the overall flavor of the dish and ground black pepper adds a gentle heat.

Celery Seed: are tiny, dark brown seeds from the celery plant. They have a stronger flavor than celery and are perfect for adding to crunchy salads.

Instructions

Whisk together: mayonnaise, vinegar, celery seed, salt and pepper, set aside.

In a large bowl: combine cabbage and carrots.

Pour mayonnaise mixture: over and toss well to combine into your Whole30 Coleslaw.

Time saver: shred the cabbage up ahead of time and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator.

Ingredients
  

  • 1/2 Green Cabbage, head shredded, about 6 cups
  • 1/2 Red Cabbage, head shredded, about 6 cups
  • 2 cups Carrot Sticks
  • 1/2 cup Avocado Oil Mayonnaise
  • 2 Tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar or 3 if you like it tangy
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Celery Seed

Method
 

  1. Whisk together mayonnaise, vinegar, celery seed, salt & pepper
  2. In a large bowl, combine cabbage and carrots
  3. Pour mayonnaise mixture over and toss well to combine
  4. Serve and enjoy!
